In 2008, Gabe Liedman, Jenny Slate, and Max Silvestri started a free weekly comedy show in Brooklyn called BIG TERRIFIC. At the time, Gabe called it the most important comedy collaboration since those heady "Will & Grace" episodes with Woody Harrelson. A Williamsburg institution, It’s been called the city’s best comedy show by places like New York Magazine and Time Out. The show’s formula has always been to mix smart young comics and established pros with a warm and inviting atmosphere, and long-time fans of the show have watched many of those up-and-comers become stars.
Max Silvestri is a comedian, writer and actor living in Brooklyn. New York Magazine called him one of the "Ten Comedians People Find Funny," and Paste Magazine featured him as one of their ten favorite comics. Max has appeared on VH1, History Channel and Fuse, and recently completed production on the forthcoming FYI series The Feed, which he hosts along side Top Chef's Gail Simmons and Marcus Samuelsson. He has worked as a writer on FUSE's Funny or Die Presents: Billy on The Street and Comedy Central's Onion SportsDome, and regularly contributes as a writer for places including Eater.com, Food & Wine Magazine, GQ, and Grantland. This summer will see the release of his stand up comedy album King Piglet, and Max frequently tours opening for comics like Aziz Ansari and John Mulaney. Along with Jenny Slate and Gabe Liedman, Max created and hosts the beloved weekly live show Big Terrific, which has been named New York Magazine's Best Stand-up Show and Time Out New York's Best New Variety Show.
